From Inspiration to Reality

October 30, 2018 Patio Design
Often times we show you featured projects and give you the finished details, but omit all the hard work details between the before and after pics.  So here’s a look back at last month’s featured project and some of the grittier details of what it takes to do a project like this.
This home needed an updated look in the backyard. They had a small pergola over a small patio that just didn’t give them the outdoor living space they needed or wanted. The homeowner wanted a Tuscan/Old World look similar to the photo below.

Added Space

Texas Custom Patios added 705 Square Feet of covered space with this outdoor living space.  This is in line with one of our medium scale design/build outdoor living projects.

Cost

The cost for something similar to this will range between 50-70k depending on final selections.  We completely changed the look from an early 2000’s style to a Tuscan, classic vibe.

Time Range

On average this sized space will take 2-3 months of build time and take a few months of planning.  From the day the contract is finalized, we are roughly 4-5 months to completion!

best of the best

Chances are if you are reading this blog right now, you are doing some patio pondering.  So will it be a covered patio or pergola? Outdoor kitchen or dining (or both)?  Maybe a fireplace or perhaps a beautifully lit fire pit?  Stone, granite, paint color … so many things to think about, but your first question should be … why Texas Custom Patios?

We specialize in providing turnkey design solutions for outdoor living, including patio covers; outdoor kitchens; screened porches; room additions; pergolas and decks; outdoor fire features and so much more!  View our portfolio here to get a better idea of what you would like.

Builder Spotlight

August 18, 2016 Interview

Each month we like to put a spotlight on someone or something that helps make Texas Custom Patios the best in the business.  This month we are taking spotlight to a whole new level by turning on the lights and  setting off some major sparks with our electrician extraordinaire!   Let’s flip the switch and meet Milan!

Milan
Full Name:  Milan Tadic

How long have you worked with TCP? Four great years!

How long in this business? Fifteen years.

What’s your “specialty?” Anything that has to do with electrical!

What do you enjoy most about what you do?  I’m always in a different place, meeting new people, and overcoming new electrical challenges, it’s so fun to do something different each day.

What’s inspiring in the construction/build world to you?  I love to see all of the new styles of projects being built and more than anything I love to see people happy.  When a homeowner sees the progress made and they light up because they are so thrilled, that’s worth it to me!

Do you have a favorite project from the past? I have so many that I love, but one that really shines brightly to me is this one …

Texas Custom Patios
I love it because it’s just so different !

What trends have you seen in outdoor design in the last few years? I’ve seen a lot of “cozy” projects … smaller, but very customized!

What do you see to be popular in the future? I imagine everything becoming more digital and lots of LED lighting!

What’s the one thing that most clients say they HAVE to have? Lighting, of course!  And fans … Texas needs fans!

What is your biggest obstacle you face during the design/build process?  Figuring out the perfect spacing between lights.  You have to be very careful or you will end up with a strobe effect … and that’s not what you want!

What do you hear most often from clients when everything is completed? They always say the completed project exceeded their expectations and they love it!

What do you think outdoor living space does for a home and person?  It builds value to the home and a place where memories can be made!

What do you hope to build/design in the future?   I just want to keep being creative!

No Such Thing as a Dumb Question

May 17, 2016 Patio Contractor, Patio Design

We are answering the most commonly asked question as part of a series we are doing each month.  So many want to know the answer to these questions, so we thought we would share it with all of you!  Last month we talked all about our specialty, and this month we are focusing on the big picture.  So here are some of the most commonly asked questions that all have, surprisingly, the same answer.

Can you put clear plastic over my pergola?

Can you add screens to my existing patio?

Can you just pour concrete?

As much as we would love to help you with all of that, we are a design build contractor who manages the project from start to finish scheduling multiple trades.  If your job requires only one trade, then it’s best to hire that trade directly!

If you are wanting to do more, we have the easiest process around … so easy that you’ll feel like it’s just one trade you are utilizing.

THE TCP DIFFERENCE

At Texas Custom Patios, we offer personalized service and flexible payment terms, and when you choose to work with us, you’ll work with the same project developer every step of the way (that’s the easy part we mentioned), from the preliminary design stage to project completion and clean-up.

We specialize in providing turnkey design solutions for outdoor living, including: patio covers, outdoor kitchens, screened porches, room additions, pergolas, fireplaces and so much more!  See our website for a complete gallery or on Houzz to see finished projects!

Our Customers Love Us

We are very happy we chose Texas Custom Patios to build our dream patio/outdoor kitchen. Our project manager, Ryan, really listened to what we wanted and grasped our vision immediately. He was actively involved in the process from start to finish. Every question or concern was addressed immediately. We were part of every decision along the way, and were pleased with the flexibility of the process. Ryan had a positive “can do” attitude that was much appreciated through out. The various work crews were professional and always left the work site as clean as possible at the end of the day. The final product is absolutely breathtaking!
