How to Host an Outdoor Style Star Spangled Party

June 16, 2014 Outdoor Living

This Outdoor Style Independence Day celebration is inspired by the old patriotic anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. We’ve incorporated song lyrics into the decorations and food for a playful, yet honoring nod to the country we love.

Set A Star Spangled Mood with Fourth of July Party Decor

What so proudly we hailed at the twilights’ last gleaming

Take into consideration that, for most Fourth of July celebrations, the party continues from daylight picnics to nighttime fireworks. As you’re planning your decorations, you’ll want to highlight the colors for daylight hours and lighting for after dark. Choose a patriotic hand-painted American flag for your focal point. Consider a spotlight for the evening hours or hang string lights nearby to showcase the flag at twilight.

And the rockets’ red glare

Here’s a no fuss centerpiece for your patio table that really shows off once the sun goes down. Add a few floral sprigs to give color and texture during the day. Collect a variety of bottles and a handful of extra long sparklers. These are often used for weddings and they’ll burn for approximately 170 seconds. Gather all of these elements on a table runner and you’ve got a centerpiece that will light up the night!

Also, try hanging these DIY confetti popper rocket streamers from Alpha Mom around your patio for some daytime color and flourish. Even the littlest ones can help make this project!

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave

Hang this “land of the free” burlap bunting over a doorway or between patio columns.

The bombs bursting in air

Flank steak pinwheels are bursting with flavor. Maybe it’s a stretch to say the round shape of the steaks is reminiscent of those mortars shot up in the sky, but it’s grilled beef, so maybe you’ll just go with me on this.

Oh, say does that star spangled banner yet wave

There are so many great ways and flavors to incorporate the colors of the holiday in your Fourth of July spread. Try this patriotic take on a Texas tradition, salsa! Be sure to assemble it at the last minute to keep the colors separate.

Our Customers Love Us

Texas Custom Patios did an outstanding job. Justin came to my house and I explained to him what I wished to do, then came back and visited with me for the estimate. He presented to me a folder with a rendered photos of what the new patio cover would look like. I was amazed that he drew exactly what I was thinking about. He was very keen to accommodate all my requests, even taking over the pool coping job, which they usually don’t do, but did an awesome job. I contacted another company to get a different quote, but fortunately they were more expensive and far less professional. TCP was very diligent to make sure that my back yard still looked good through the job. The cover was done fast and professionally, and Justin always went that extra yard. I was really lucky that I contacted Texas Custom Patios. Highly recommended!
