Bratwurst Bath

Ingredients

1 aluminum foil baking pan

1 stick butter

3 to 4 bottles (12 ounces) beer

2 medium yellow onions, sliced

1 pound container sauerkraut, drained

12 to 16 bratwursts

12 to 16 bratwurst buns or hard rolls

Mustard

Directions

  1. Place the foil pan on the grill over indirect heat. Add beer, kraut, butter, and onions. Cook until the onions are soft.
  2. At the same time, grill the brats over low-to-medium direct heat.
  3. When the bratwursts are done, put them directly into the foil pan “bath.”
  4. Serve bratwursts on buns with sauerkraut, onions, and mustard on top.

The Bratwurst Bath works equally well on a grill (indirect heat), in an oven (250 degrees), or in a slow cooker (on “Warm”). Prepare the bath mixture and grill the bratwursts ahead of time (even the night before), then simply combine everything and reheat it to serve.

Our Customers Love Us

We were incredibly pleased with Texas Custom Patios. Jeremy did an amazing job of keeping us informed, and the job was pretty much completed in the time he said. The workmanship was great and our patio looks like it was part of the original house design. I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality work done. Well worth the money we spent and we were pleasantly surprised that it was less than we thought it would be.
