This home in Northwest Dallas had a small balcony with a covered area and a large backyard. They wanted to Live it Out by adding an outdoor kitchen, fire place, fire pit and another smaller covered area off the master bedroom. Their yard went from boring to breathtaking.
Just a small covered balcony was all this home had to offer.
New doors were installed replacing the French doors and a window. Opening up this wall allows the family to transition easily between inside and out.
The new doors fold up and stay neatly out of the way.
The current balcony had to be rebuilt so the extended patio cover roof could be built to extend the space. A gas fireplace was built as the focal point of the sitting area.
The ceiling is American Nut Brown pre-stained tongue and groove by Woodtone. The flooring, a total of about 915 SF, is Botanica Teak matte porcelain tile from MSI International. The privacy wall is custom built along the side of the home behind the kitchen and along side the fire place…subtle but certainly does the job to help enclose the space.
The outdoor kitchen includes RCS brand appliances – grill, fridge, storage and a griddle. It is faced with Trespa Lumber to match the front of the home.
The granite is River White from MSI International and creates a stunning look with a waterfall application on both the island and the grilling area. This is the perfect space for hanging out or to use for a buffet.
Another view of the kitchen area – just perfect. The stone columns are Rockmount Rustic Gold dry stacked stone from MSI International. This is the same stone that was used on the fireplace and firepit.
A fire pit was added in the open area to give the homeowners an additional space to hang out.
TCP Custom Outdoor Living did an awesome job on our cover. I have enjoyed everything about it. The crew did a great job before, during, and after. I highly recommend them to everyone. Thank You for a beautiful patio.
