Screened porch and outdoor living in McKinney

This yard was an empty slate and had plenty of room to create the homeowner’s vision.  TCP added a screened porch, covered patio and outdoor kitchen.

Before

As you can see, there is no shade on the back of this home with a large backyard.

Screened Porch

A screened porch was added so the family could have a year round outdoor space. The screens are sun and bug blocking. Access to this space from inside was created with the addition of a door that replaced windows.

Gas Fireplace

A custom built gas starting wood fireplace is the focal point of the screened porch. Bromic heaters were also installed to keep the space nice and warm on chilly days and nights.

Retractable Screen

TCP installed a retractable screen and door between the screened area and covered patio portion that has the outdoor kitchen and dining.

Step outside to dine al fresco

With the screens up, the space opens up to the outdoor kitchen and dining area.

Outdoor dining

This part of the new space is dedicated to dining. The flooring throughout is a Versailles pattern travertine from QDI. All of the ceiling is American Nut Brown pre-stained tongue and groove by Woodtone.

Custom Outdoor Kitchen

The outdoor kitchen is equipped with RCS appliances – grill, fridge, doors and drawers. The long counter area and bar top that wraps around the space has granite. The stone used throughout is Austin Cream and Austin Chop White from Republic Stone.

A Space to Enjoy

We added an additional 1330 SF for the homeowner to Live it Out. Three distinct areas – screened porch, kitchen area and an open air patio. The family now has the backyard they desired .

Our Customers Love Us

I have a lot of experience with construction and renovations, so some contractors find me annoying at best. My outdoor living project was larger than I was able to take on as it entailed adding an outdoor living area, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom with a fireplace and fire pit. It’s built onto an existing structure with a tile roof in a seamless manner. The completed project is amazing, and was featured in the Houzz project of the month for December 2013. It was a very large project so it took a long time to complete, however the process was absolutely painless. In my previous experiences, I have always had issues with miscommunications and added costs, among other things. My experience with Texas Custom Patios included NONE of these issues. The finished project far exceeded my expectations. The workmanship was superior, and the quality of the products is top of the line. I truly highly recommend them.
