This home had a very small covered space that was built as a part of their home. They needed more shade and desired a space that allowed them to relax in their backyard.
As a newly built home, there was a blank slate. More shade and character were needed to make this back yard come to life.
Building a double-sided fireplace to anchor the space and provide a little privacy from the neighborhood greenspace was just what the family wanted. The stone on the fireplace and columns is Ashlar Concord Blend, Ashlar Dark Cream mix and Ashlar Grigio all from Apex Stone. This blend of material complements the brick on the home nicely. The hearth is Ashton Moire ledgestone, also from Apex Stone. The mantle is stained cedar to match the trusses in the gable.
The interior of the space is just perfect to cozy up and enjoy the outdoors. Whether you are watching a movie, reading a book, or visiting with friends this space is just ideal.
The original cover is now a nook for the grill and a smaller sitting area.
The flooring is just broom finished concrete. The homeowner has placed area rugs for a bit of color and comfort. The ceiling is Woodtone pre-stained tongue and groove in English Porter.
I am totally satisfied with my new patio. The whole project was done very well and I recommend Texas Custom Patios to anyone – all my neighbors and friends were impressed.
