Memorial Area Patio Cover and Outdoor Kitchen

This older home needed a backyard make-over. The family needed some shade and a nicer area to entertain. They also wanted a small built in kitchen.

New Outdoor living room

Before
The lack of a patio cover didn’t keep this family from using their backyard. But they wanted something more–something that would provide shade and a place to relax.
An Extension of Indoors
The home had a wall of windows with French doors – adding the covered space really did just extend the living room.
A Unique Floor
The flooring is a herringbone pattern brick. It’s the perfect accent for this 558 SF patio cover. We needed to address a drainage issue, so we installed a French drain system with black gravel. This serves the purpose of the drainage and helps define the patio space.
Custom Kitchen
We added an outdoor kitchen along the side wall. We had to build out a brick wall behind the grill. This kitchen has just enough space for prepping and serving meals and is equipped with plenty of doors and drawers for storage. The vent hood is wrapped with the same granite as the counter.
Beamed Ceiling
The stained beams on the ceiling really pop against the light paint of the tongue and groove. The hardie wrapped columns keep the style of the new space in line with the home.
