Designing/building this outdoor living area was a challenge. The homeowner wanted to create an open outdoor area that would flow from the inside to the outside. At first glance, the outdoor space looks like a fully-furnished indoor living room…exactly what the homeowner desired. It gave them room to expand and enjoy the outdoors.
The sitting area was built with a custom fireplace and is a great space to sit and visit.
The seating area flows into the kitchen that has arched openings. Along with the dining area, there is a bar top counter for additional seating.
The additional uncovered patio area has a custom built firepit.
Custom 4 leaf folding doors were installed to give the homeowner the indoor/outdoor feel. The ceiling is stained reclaimed lumber with reclaimed hemlock beams and mantle on the fireplace. The walls are stucco to match the home with manufactured stone accents for the columns and fireplace. The roof is clay tile to match the home. The floor is an Italian tile that resembles hand-scraped cedar.
Rob came by our house and looked at what we wanted. We wanted our patio to cover a width of 50 feet between our bedroom and garage. Our garage was not parallel to our house and posed a building problem, but Rob solved that problem and blended our patio with our house and the garage. The crews were very professional and did a fantastic job. They cleaned up after themselves every day, and the backyard was immaculate when they finished. Rob did a fantastic job designing our patio the way we wanted it to be. Texas Custom Patios was the only company that also properly designed the patio for us. We love the results and would only recommend them to anyone else looking to add an outdoor living area to their home. They are a first rate company.
