This home has a whole new look and they are able to use the space all year long. Adding a great outdoor living room complete with a fireplace, large living area and retractable screens to close off the space.
The homeowner wanted to update their backyard that already had a unique shape and feel. They wanted a new covered space and fire place.
This space was updated with new sliding doors and 16X24 Riviera Tumbled travertine pavers from QDI. It is a perfect area to enjoy the outdoors and a bit of sunshine.
The back side of the fireplace creates a great wall for privacy to the outdoor living room from the neighbors. The stacked stone gives the patio cover a great texture. The small triangle spaces at the top have actual windows in there to help keep the space conditioned and protect the area when the weather is cold.
This area also had new sliding doors installed to replace outdated French doors. The space is a gabled roof with a vaulted ceiling of custom stained pine and cedar beams. This space is right at 400 SF.
Adding retractable screens to this project allows the homeowner to completely close off and protect the space from the sun or cold weather or from any bugs. The screens were added along both sides of the patio cover as well as in the window spaces on each side of the fireplace.
We were not able to run a gas line to create a gas fed fireplace, so an electric heater fireplace was installed. Electric heaters were also installed along the ceiling to create a nice and cozy space.
We worked with Mark, who came to us with plans and fully explained the costs, materials, timeline, and talked about the construction methods. The project was well organized, with a new crew arriving once each stage of construction was completed. I kept a photo record of it, which was fun and friends are wowed by the timeline. I completely recommend Texas Custom Patios.
