This home had a worn-out pergola that didn’t provide any shade. A much nicer space was desired for the family to enjoy their back yard.
The pool was great, the yard was great, but they needed a much nicer space!
The new screened in patio is about 430SF with a gabled roof and a vaulted ceiling. The knee walls are brick and are painted to match the home. Hardie trim was used to finish out the screened area.
A gas fireplace was built at one end of the porch. It is a 42″ gas insert with herringbone pattern from Perfection Fireplace. It is faced with painted brick and has a raised hearth.
The outdoor kitchen was built at the other end of the screened porch. It is just an 8′ kitchen but has plenty of room for prepping and serving a delicious meal. The appliances are from Cunningham Gas (@RCSGasGrills) and include a 38″ grill, vent hood, storage and an outdoor fridge. The counter is silver gray granite from InStyle Granite. It is also faced with painted brick to give the space a cohesive look.
The ceiling Woodtone Real Soffit pre-stained tongue and groove – West Coast IPA. The floor is just concrete.
This screened porch is exactly what was needed to complete this backyard. Imagine yourself wrapped in a blanket with the beverage of your choice in front of the fire while a steak is grilling… Perfection.
I have a lot of experience with construction and renovations, so some contractors find me annoying at best. My outdoor living project was larger than I was able to take on as it entailed adding an outdoor living area, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom with a fireplace and fire pit. It’s built onto an existing structure with a tile roof in a seamless manner. The completed project is amazing, and was featured in the Houzz project of the month for December 2013. It was a very large project so it took a long time to complete, however the process was absolutely painless. In my previous experiences, I have always had issues with miscommunications and added costs, among other things. My experience with Texas Custom Patios included NONE of these issues. The finished project far exceeded my expectations. The workmanship was superior, and the quality of the products is top of the line. I truly highly recommend them.
