This large outdoor entertainment space was exactly what the homeowner desired to complement their new swimming pool. This covered patio completes the back yard with plenty of room for grilling or for just hanging out after a dip in the pool.
This home was a blank slate – the homeowner had a pool installed and wanted a large outdoor entertaining space to go with it. The original patio cover had a 20 foot high ceiling and did not provide coverage from the elements.
In building this space, we added a room to the second floor to create part of the ceiling for the patio cover. We extended the roof line out and then along the side of the home to create this space that is 945 square feet.
This space has it all – the modern fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room. It is faced with the same tile as the summer kitchen and provides a texture contrast to the stucco walls around it. There is a bathroom and storage closet built at the end of the covered space.
We built in a half bath for use while out at the pool or for big parties.
This covered area has all the right looks… the flooring is 1″ thick travertine pavers in light ivory that continues throughout the pool decking to give the space one continuous look. Roll down shades have been installed to filter out the strong sun that shines in during the afternoon.
This large outdoor kitchen has a 12′ long section for cooking that includes a double side burner and RCS Pro Series grill. The Firemagic vent hood above creates a focal point. The back splash for the cooking area is a linen texture tile for easy clean up. The bar area across from the grill is 8′ long and has a sink, fridge and storage. It is the perfect spot to belly up to for dinner or for that evening refreshment.
What more can be said? This outdoor living room and kitchen is the perfect place to spend time in.
I have a lot of experience with construction and renovations, so some contractors find me annoying at best. My outdoor living project was larger than I was able to take on as it entailed adding an outdoor living area, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom with a fireplace and fire pit. It’s built onto an existing structure with a tile roof in a seamless manner. The completed project is amazing, and was featured in the Houzz project of the month for December 2013. It was a very large project so it took a long time to complete, however the process was absolutely painless. In my previous experiences, I have always had issues with miscommunications and added costs, among other things. My experience with Texas Custom Patios included NONE of these issues. The finished project far exceeded my expectations. The workmanship was superior, and the quality of the products is top of the line. I truly highly recommend them.
