Great addition to an existing patio cover to create an outdoor living room complete with a summer kitchen and dining area.
This home had an existing patio cover and outdoor fireplace. It was not large enough for them anymore and they wanted some relief from the sun.
The fireplace continues to be the focal point of the space. We extended the roof line out and over in order to create a total space of about 500 SF. This really gave the homeowner enough room to utilize the space in the way they desired.
The arched openings in the outer wall give the homeowner privacy as well as creating a way to protect from the harsh sun that this home gets in the afternoons. The window box adds interest and allows for some natural light to come into the space. The long window above the summer kitchen allows for ventilation while the grill is in use.
This is a simple kitchen, only 8 1/2 linear feet, but is functional and gives them everything they need. A grill and outdoor refrigerator and counter space for prepping and serving food. The cabinets are custom built to add to the decorative nature of this project.
We custom built a dining area for the homeowner. The stone on the fascia matches the existing stone on the fireplace. And the granite is the same as what is on the kitchen counter. This space is great for sitting out and watching the big game while enjoying the company of family and friends.
The vaulted ceiling is finished with smokey bourbon tongue and groove with 10X10 distressed cedar beams. and custom hardware.
A perfect place to end your day…
We had very high expectations when Texas Custom Patios began construction on our back patio space. Because our roofline has a steep pitch and the odd location of our chimney, we were concerned about whether the addition would flow seamlessly with the rest of the roofline. Steven and his crews far exceeded our expectations. Professional and attentive to our concerns, Texas Custom Patios created the outdoor space we’ve always wanted – only better.
