February 12, 2016 Outdoor CookingSounds amazingly delicious, right? For you two lovebirds we are grilling up your favorite pizza, sipping some champagne and dipping your most-loved sweets in chocolate! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous in Texas this weekend, so a date night on the patio might just be perfect!
Let’s get cookin’ ..
Grilled Pizza

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons cornmeal for dusting
3/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
Directions
- Proof yeast in warm water.
- In separate bowl place flour, salt, sugar, and oil. Make a well in the center and place yeast/warm water mixture in. Mix thoroughly until consistency of an elastic ball. Allow to rise 1 1/2 hours.
- Flour surface and roll out 1/2 of the dough. Rub with cornmeal. Sprinkle with your favorite toppings.
- Spray grill with cooking spray. Grill dough about 5 minutes or until toppings are melted. Repeat with second piece of dough.
Chocolate Fondue

Ingredients
12 ounces of milk or dark chocolate (chips or roughly chopped if from a block)
1 cup (8 ounces) of heavy whipping cream
A pinch of salt
Dip-ables such as: strawberries, banana pieces cut into 1-inch pieces, pound cake, biscotti
Directions
1 Heat the cream over medium heat in a small saucepan until tiny bubbles show and begins to lightly and slowly simmer.
2 Remove from heat, add the chocolate, and whisk until smooth and fully incorporated.
3 Immediately transfer to a fondue pot heated at low or with a low flame, or serve straight from the pot.
Arrange the dip-ables on a platter or plates around the chocolate pot. Use a fondue fork, bamboo skewer, seafood fork, or salad fork to dip the fruit pieces and other dippables into the hot melted cream chocolate mixture. Eat immediately.
If the fondue begins to feel a little stiff, add a tablespoon of heavy cream and stir. It will help it go a little longer. Eventually, it will cook down though and you may need to start a new pot.
Now cheers with your favorite champagne to a wonderful evening, a beautiful view and to someone you love.
Happy Valentine’s Day from everyone at Texas Custom Patios!
